I am admitting that I'm obsessed with Friendly Fires. I already posted about them being my "New Dance Muse" when I fell for "Skeleton Boy". I love all the great three-man-band groups. Their sound is funky and catchy, but in a good way. What do you expect from a girl who likes upbeat dance music and silly dancing boys? Front man Ed MacFarlane can dance. If I ever encounter a boy that can dance like this without a care in the world, I don't know what I would do. You need to realize what makes a great dancer is a person who is dancing because they enjoy it and truly enjoy the music. People need to realize it doesn't really matter what it looks like as long as it's natural and not trying to gain attention, and of course some people shouldn't dance.
via chriskenworthyYou may not think Ed's form is the ideal style of dancing, but oh my, I do. If you want to know what I look like when I completely let loose at a show that I've been anticipating for months, go to their show in Austin November 19th at The Mohawk. I'm going to try and score an interview and perhaps an after show date? Eh? Wish me luck. I know one of my top "Artist of the Month" picks for me and Shawn's radio show 'The Party Line' will definitely include the FF boys.
Here's their newest video "Kiss of Life"...but you must watch all the way through.
Here's a really good recording of a show back in April that I found. Don't worry, I will have my own footage like this soon.
Forewarning you, the audio in the video below is pretty bad, so mute it if you must. Greatness.
And again.

agree with you totally about the dancing. you're lucky, you don't have to travel too far to see them and you've only got 1 week to go (jealous). are you going to post about the gig? if so I will look forward to reading it :)
I hope you get your interview, good luck! I myself am trying to get one with them for Boston. they are really v. nice in person.
